In a Brooklyn apartment building at 1418 Brooklyn Avenue, a horrifying scene unfolded as Jason Pass confronted his neighbor, Marie Delille, over loud noise. The disagreement, which had been brewing for years, took a deadly turn when Pass shot both Delille’s husband, Bladimy Mathurin, and stepson, Chinwai Mode, in the hallway of the building.
The surveillance footage shows Mathurin, armed with a pair of scissors, confronting Pass. As the situation escalated, Pass drew a gun from his waistband and shot Mathurin. Mode attempted to escape but was also shot multiple times by Pass. After the shootings, Pass calmly left the scene via the elevator.
Marie Delille, devastated by the loss, expressed her anguish, questioning why Pass would resort to such violence over a noise dispute. She revealed that her husband worked two jobs to support the family and that both she and her 10-year-old daughter witnessed the tragic event.
The NYPD has reported that Pass, who lived below Mathurin, had previously made six 311 calls regarding noise complaints. The tension between the two neighbors reached its peak on the fateful day when Pass banged on his ceiling, prompting Mathurin to respond by banging on his floor. This led to the fatal confrontation.
The search for Jason Pass is ongoing, with the police yet to release details about their efforts to apprehend him. Notably, the apartment complex in East Flatbush has been home to Hollywood stars like Barbra Streisand and Michael K. Williams in the past.
