Republicans Suggest Political Motives
Republican entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former U.N. Ambassador expressed their suspicions about the timing of Hunter Biden’s tax indictment, claiming it is a sign of the “deep state” planning to sideline President Biden and select a new puppet for 2024. They believe the indictment is being used as a fig leaf to justify the Trump prosecutions as non-political.
GOP Figures Question the Justice Department
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis voiced his lack of trust in the Department of Justice (DOJ) during a press gaggle in Iowa. He questioned how the indictment came to be and suggested that it could be used to create the appearance of impartiality in the DOJ’s actions. DeSantis further expressed doubts that Hunter Biden would face true justice, predicting that President Biden would ultimately pardon his son.
On the other hand, former Republican Arkansas Gov. defended the rule of law and called for allowing the case against Hunter Biden to proceed without political interference. He acknowledged the failed plea agreement in the past but emphasized the need to let the justice system work.
Christie Raises Questions About Father-Son Relationship
Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie addressed the allegations of corrupt business dealings involving Hunter and Joe Biden. While he did not directly comment on the indictment, Christie questioned the financial relationship between the father and son, suggesting that Joe Biden has provided support to his son’s ventures.
Marianne Williamson Sees Complications for Biden’s Campaign
Democratic candidate Marianne Williamson acknowledged that Hunter Biden’s indictment could complicate President Biden’s campaign for re-election. She believes it could distract from the Democrats’ efforts to make their case to the American people for another four years in the White House.
Independent candidate declined to comment on Hunter’s indictment, while other political figures did not immediately respond to Fox’s request for comment. Fox has also reached out to the DOJ for a statement.
