Reporters Swarm President Biden With Questions
As President Biden made his way across the South Lawn of the White House towards Marine One, reporters bombarded him with inquiries about his son, Hunter, and the recent charges against him. Ignoring the barrage of questions, Biden simply waved and continued his walk. Meanwhile, Hunter also faced a flurry of questions as he left his home in California, including one about whether he expected to be pardoned by his father. Like his father, Hunter chose to ignore the reporters and left in a car without providing any comment.
Charges Against Hunter Biden
Special Counsel David Weiss has brought forth a case against Hunter Biden, consisting of three felonies and six misdemeanors related to unpaid taxes totaling $1.4 million. According to Weiss, Hunter engaged in a scheme spanning four years to evade paying these taxes, withdrawing millions of dollars from his own company, Owasco, PC, outside of the proper payroll and tax withholding process. The charges allege that Hunter used these funds to support an extravagant lifestyle rather than fulfilling his tax obligations. Additionally, Weiss claims that Hunter failed to pay outstanding taxes for the year 2015 and willfully neglected to pay his taxes for the years 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. He also filed false tax returns in 2018, including bogus business deductions to lower his tax liabilities.
Impeachment Inquiry Looms
These charges against Hunter Biden come at a critical time, just before an anticipated vote next week on whether to initiate an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. The inquiry centers around potential connections between the President and his son’s business dealings. The outcome of this vote will have significant implications for the Biden administration.
