‘Filming with someone you just separated from was very difficult’
Reality TV star Tarek El Moussa, known for his role in the hit HGTV show “Flip or Flop,” recently spoke about the challenges he faced while filming the show after his divorce from his co-star and ex-wife, Christina Haack. El Moussa admitted that it was tough to continue working with someone he had just separated from, especially because he was still in love with her at the time.
During an interview, El Moussa revealed that watching Haack remarry and start a family was particularly difficult for him. Even though he had to film with her throughout the process, he never lost hope for his own happiness.
A Decade of Marriage and Shared Children
El Moussa and Haack got married in 2009 and were together for nearly ten years before their separation in 2018. The former couple shares two children, a daughter named Taylor and a son named Brayden.
Post-Divorce Lives
After their divorce, Haack married Ant Anstead in 2018, and they welcomed their son, Hudson, the following year. On the other hand, El Moussa found love again and tied the knot with “Selling Sunset” star Heather Rae Young in 2021. The couple recently celebrated their son Tristan’s first birthday.
A Memoir Revealing a Troubled Past
El Moussa is releasing a memoir titled “Flip Your Life: How to Find Opportunity in Distress-in Real Estate, Business, and Life.” In the book, he opens up about his troubled past, including being arrested for attempted murder as a teenager.
The reality TV star explains that growing up in a challenging environment influenced his actions. He recounts being involved in a gang fight that led to his arrest and a short stay in a juvenile detention center. El Moussa emphasizes that he is a product of his environment and that in order to survive, he had to make certain choices.
El Moussa’s book also delves into his experience of being medicated for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and the positive impact it had on his life.
A Message of Hope and Transformation
Despite the difficulties he faced, El Moussa’s life has transformed significantly. He expresses his gratitude for where he is today compared to the past.
“Flip or Flop” aired its final episode in 2022, marking the end of a successful ten-season run. El Moussa’s memoir, “Flip Your Life: How to Find Opportunity in Distress-in Real Estate, Business, and Life,” will be available starting February 6th.
