White House Press Secretary Reacts to Hunter Biden’s Testimony
In response to Hunter Biden’s recent testimony, White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, defended President Biden’s position. Jean-Pierre stated that the president was aware of his son’s testimony and believed it came from the heart.
When asked about President Biden’s stance on Hunter defying the subpoena, Jean-Pierre did not provide any specific details but insisted that the president’s view was not up for discussion.
The press secretary also declined to comment on the frequency of conversations between President Biden and Hunter, deeming them private matters.
Press Secretary Evades Questions on Prosecuting Subpoena Defiers
During the press conference, Jean-Pierre was pressed on President Biden’s previous comments about prosecuting individuals who defied congressional subpoenas. However, she chose not to comment on this matter.
When questioned further, Jean-Pierre reiterated the president’s earlier statement without providing any additional information. She made it clear that she had nothing more to add on the subject.
Hunter Biden Offers to Testify Publicly
In his press conference, Hunter Biden expressed his willingness to testify publicly regarding the ongoing investigation. However, he refused to appear for his closed-door deposition, for which he had been subpoenaed.
Hunter maintained that his father had no financial involvement in the investigated business dealings and emphasized that there was no evidence to support such claims.
In his statement, Hunter criticized “MAGA” Republicans for invading his privacy, attacking his family, and ridiculing his struggle with addiction.
Hunter Biden Faces Indictment in California
Adding to the controversy, Hunter Biden was indicted last week in California. The nine charges against him allege a four-year tax evasion scheme, during which he failed to pay federal income taxes from January 2017 to October 2020 and filed false tax reports.
