Crude Oil
Benchmark U.S. crude oil saw a significant increase, rising by $1.16 to $79.19 per barrel for March delivery. Brent crude also experienced a rise of 61 cents, reaching $83.47 per barrel for April delivery.
Gasoline and Heating
Wholesale gasoline prices went up by 2 cents, reaching $2.34 per gallon for March delivery. On the other hand, March heating decreased by 1 cent to $2.81 per gallon.
Natural Gas
March natural gas also saw an increase, rising by 3 cents to $1.61 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Precious Metals
Turning to precious metals, gold prices for April delivery rose by $9.20 to $2,024.10 per ounce. Silver for March delivery increased by 53 cents to $23.48 per ounce, while March copper rose by 8 cents to $3.84 per pound.
Currency Exchange Rates
The dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen, rising to 150.24 yen from 149.96 Japanese yen. Similarly, the euro saw a slight increase, rising to $1.0777 from $1.0769.
