SCOTTVILLE, Mich. — A 21-year-old man from Tennessee was apprehended in Michigan after trying to enroll at a high school upon meeting a minor online, according to authorities. The incident came to light when a vigilant staff member at Mason County Central raised concerns to a sheriff’s deputy, leading to an investigation.
Deceptive Claims Unveiled
During the interview on Tuesday, it was discovered that the individual was not a teenager as he had purported to be while interacting with the minor online. The man, hailing from Fort Campbell, Tennessee, now faces charges for using a computer to commit a crime, among other offenses.

Sheriff Kim Cole emphasized the importance of parental awareness regarding online interactions, stating, “I would strongly encourage parents to have conversations with their children about the dangers of online chatting and the sharing of information over the internet or social media platforms.”
