In a collaborative effort, researchers and local farmers utilized llamas (Llama glama) to graze designated plots near the glacier. Anaїs Zimmer and her team from the University of Texas at Austin observed a 57 percent increase in plant cover in the grazed areas, a testament to the llamas’ effectiveness in enhancing soil quality.
