Their typical day onboard is nothing short of active. Starting their mornings at the break of dawn with a 5:30 a.m. ping-pong session, the couple then indulges in some relaxing reading, exquisite dining, and the joy of forging new friendships. Evening time? It’s all about entertainment. “Post-dinner, we typically watch a show and perhaps indulge in a bit of dancing,” shares Jess, while talking to ABC News’ Danny New. She adds, “Where else can you enjoy such an experience?”
Affordability Over Retirement Homes
Interestingly, the couple reveals that the cruising lifestyle is a more budget-friendly option for them compared to residing in a retirement village. “From a financial perspective, this works out more economical for us,” points out Marty, though he’s quick to add that such a lifestyle might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
Family Ties and Future Plans
Despite their prolonged stay at sea, the bond with their family remains intact. Each time the ship anchors at their Australian home port, the Ansens cherish moments with their loved ones onshore. As for their sailing plans? They’re in it for the long haul! They intend to stay aboard the Coral Princess until at least August 2024. This commitment translates to them spending over two years on this mid-sized cruise ship, capable of hosting up to 2,000 guests. The couple’s popularity isn’t confined to just fellow passengers; Jess celebrated her previous birthday with a special serenade, courtesy of the onboard staff.
With beaming smiles, Jess concludes, “The staff here are simply exceptional. They ensure we’re well taken care of.”
