Organization Punishes Yan Chenglong for “Extremely Bad Character”
The reigning “Xiangqi King,” Yan Chenglong, has been stripped of his title by the organization following allegations of cheating and misconduct. The decision was announced by the Agence France-Press (AFP) after officials cited Yan’s “extremely bad character” as the primary reason for the action.
Unfortunate Incident
One incident that led to the decision involved Yan consuming alcohol with others in his room. The following day, he allegedly defecated in the bathtub, causing damage to the hotel property. The organization deemed this act a violation of public order, good morals, and detrimental to the reputation of the competition and the event of Xiangqi.
Unsubstantiated Cheating Allegations
Rumors circulating on the Chinese social media site Weibo suggested that Yan had cheated during the tournament using anal beads with wireless transmitters. However, the organization stated that there was currently no evidence to support these claims.
“Based on our understanding of the situation, it is currently impossible to prove that Yan engaged in cheating via ‘anal beads’ as speculated on social media,” the organization clarified.
Punitive Measures and Uncertain Prize Money
As a consequence of his behavior, Yan has been suspended from participating in Xiangqi competitions for a year. Additionally, the organization has decided to strip him of his prize money, although the exact amount remains undisclosed.
It is yet to be seen how this incident will impact Yan’s reputation and future in the Xiangqi community.
