Family Appoints Co-Conservators for Brian Wilson
The family of 81-year-old Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson is seeking a conservatorship for him following the recent passing of his wife, Melinda Ledbetter. Wilson’s family, through a statement by his longtime publicist and manager Jean Sievers, has appointed Sievers and LeeAnn Hard as co-conservators of Wilson’s person to ensure stability in the household.
Reasons for Conservatorship
Wilson’s family filed court documents in Los Angeles seeking the conservatorship, citing his major neurocognitive disorder and inability to provide for his own personal needs after his wife’s passing. The decision aims to maintain care for Wilson and the children living at home.
Hearing Scheduled in April
The court hearing on the conservatorship matter is set for April, with Wilson’s doctor confirming his health condition. Sievers and Hard are chosen as co-conservators due to their longstanding relationship with Wilson and his trust in them.
Remembering Melinda Ledbetter
Wilson announced the passing of his wife Melinda on Instagram, expressing his deep loss. The couple, who married in 1995, had five adopted children together. Wilson, also father to Carnie and Wendy Wilson, members of Wilson Phillips, will have the support of his family and friends during this time.
