A Life-Changing Encounter
Actress Danica McKellar, known for her role in “The Wonder Years,” recently revealed her newfound faith in a conversation with Carley Shimkus. McKellar explained that although she had been exposed to Christianity throughout her life, it never truly resonated with her. However, a friend, Candace Cameron Bure, introduced her to church, and something remarkable happened.
“I was flooded with this love and understanding,” McKellar shared, reflecting on her experience. Previously biased against Christianity due to its reputation and misconceptions, she realized that Jesus was actually anti-religion. This newfound understanding of a higher power and the importance of doing the right thing led her to feel incredibly blessed.
A Journey of Love and Peace
Moving forward, McKellar expressed her desire for others to feel the same love and peace she now experiences. She emphasized that embracing faith is not about judgment but about finding solace, especially in moments of solitude. Contrary to her previous beliefs, she discovered that religion is liberating rather than restrictive.
“You don’t feel alone anymore in your moments where you are by yourself, you’re not alone,” she explained. “And the fact that that’s available to everybody at any time… I thought religion was this restrictive thing, it’s actually the most freeing thing in the world.”
A Beautiful Gift for All
During a previous interview in October, McKellar further described her faith journey. She clarified that she sees it more as a relationship rather than a religious adherence. McKellar credited Bure and her father for their influence on her newfound faith and expressed immense gratitude for the positive impact it has had on her life.
“It’s just been a beautiful, beautiful gift, and it feels so good, and I want everyone to have that feeling,” she shared wholeheartedly.
A Change of Scenery
In addition to her spiritual transformation, McKellar also made a significant move last year. She relocated with her son, Draco, to a rural area outside Nashville, Tennessee. She expressed her love for the changing seasons and the sense of serenity that Tennessee offers.
“Tennessee is a total quality of life improvement,” she stated. The actress, originally from Southern California, has discovered a newfound appreciation for the beauty of nature and the distinctiveness of each season.
Celebrating the Holidays in Tennessee
McKellar also shared her excitement about celebrating Christmas in her new home state. She expressed how the changing leaves and the gradual transition into winter create an extra level of anticipation and coziness.
“Living in Tennessee now is extra exciting because you can see it around you,” she happily exclaimed.
As McKellar continues to embrace her faith and settle into her new surroundings, she hopes that her story will inspire others to find their own sense of love, peace, and fulfillment.
